Multidisciplinary Research Teams as an Introduction to Approach to Development of Research performance at Assiut University

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the obstacles to implementing multidisciplinary research teams and the requirements for activating them to develop research performance at Assiut University, and to benefit from them in developing a proposed vision for activating multidisciplinary research teams as an entry point for developing research performance at Assiut University. The research used the descriptive approach, with the help of a questionnaire that was applied to a sample numbering ( 293) from the faculty and supporting staff of some of Assiut University’s practical and theoretical faculties, and the research concluded:



- There are several obstacles that limit the application of multidisciplinary research teams in developing research performance at Assiut University. Some of them are related to legal and legislative aspects, some are related to human and material aspects, and others are related to administrative and organizational aspects.

- The application of multidisciplinary research teams to develop research performance at Assiut University requires the provision of many requirements related to the legal and legislative aspects, administrative and organizational aspects, and human and material aspects.

- There are statistically significant differences between the responses of the sample of practical and theoretical colleges, whether with regard to the obstacles to implementing multidisciplinary research teams, or to the requirements for activating them to develop research performance at Assiut University, at the significance level (0.001) in favor of the theoretical colleges.

- There are no statistically significant differences between the research groups, at Assiut University, attributed to the job grade variable.
