The effect of using digital stories in improving the academic skills of autistic children

Abstract

The research aimed to improve the academic skills of children with autism spectrum disorder in the State of Kuwait using digital stories. The basic research group consisted of (30) children from the fourth grade of the Autistic Behavior School in the State of Kuwait, their average age was (11.87) years, and the standard deviation was (1). ,19), and the research tool was prepared to test the academic skills of children with autism spectrum disorder in the State of Kuwait, and the test was applied pre-test, then taught to the research group by using digital stories, then the test was applied to the research group post-test, and the research found that there was a difference Statistically significant at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of the research group in the pre- and post-applications of the academic skills test in favor of the post-application. The research recommended the need to pay attention to developing the skills of children with autism spectrum disorder, especially academic skills, due to their importance in developing children mentally, and designing curricula for children with autism spectrum disorder. So that children are effectively trained in academic skills, training children in academic skills that support their mental development and help advance the educational process and benefiting from digital stories prepared in research into developing other skills in children with autism spectrum disorder.
