Psychometric properties of the mobile phone addiction scale for adolescents Among middle school students in the Kuwaiti environment

Abstract

The current study aimed to verify the psychometric properties of the mobile phone addiction scale for adolescents among middle school students in the Kuwaiti environment. The study was conducted on a sample of (135) middle school students in the General Administration of the Farwaniya Educational District in the State of Kuwait, whose ages range between 13-14 years with an average arithmetic. For a chronological age of 13.06 years, and a standard deviation of 0.89, the study used a mobile phone addiction scale for adolescents (prepared by Mustafa Abdel Mohsen Al-Hudaibi, 2021), and the researchers used confirmatory factor analysis to verify the validity of the latent construct of the scale by testing the latent factors model,The results resulted in indicators of goodness of fit with the proposed model, as they reached Chi-Square (269.36), Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) (0.913), Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) (0.890), and (Incremental Fit Indexes (NFI).
