Abstract

The research aimed to reduce stuttering disorder among some students in community education schools through the use of a community-based rehabilitation program. The study relied on an experimental method based on a single group with pre-and post-measurements. The study was applied to a group of children with stuttering disorder, consisting of (7) children, including (2) males and (5) females, who were selected from the parallel school affiliated with the Upper Egypt Association for Education and Development in Abutij Center, Assiut Governorate. Their ages ranged from (6 to 14) years, with an average age of (7.8) years and a standard deviation of (1.4). The research utilized a set of tools and materials, including the Stuttering Scale for diagnosing symptoms and severity of stuttering disorder (Dr. Nahla Al-Rifai - 2001), and the training program (Community-Based Rehabilitation Program) (prepared by the researcher). The results indicated significant statistical differences between the average ranks of scores of children with stuttering disorder (experimental study group) in the pre-and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement. However, there were no significant statistical differences between the average ranks of scores of children with stuttering disorder (experimental study group) in the post-measurement and follow-up measurement of the stuttering scale.
