Abstract

The research aimed to improve some life skills among a sample of ‎children qwith autism through a training program using the Jasper ‎approach, The research relied on a one-group experimental design ‎with pre-test and post-test measurements, The research was applied ‎to a sample of children with autism, consisting of (5) children, including ‎‎(3) males and (2) females, who were selected from the Belotri Special ‎Education Resort affiliated with the Hadara Foundation in Asyut ‎Governorate, Their ages ranged from (6 to 8) years, with a mean age ‎of (7.8) years and a standard deviation of (1.4), The study included a ‎set of tools: the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale, Third Edition (translated ‎by Adel Abdullah Mohammed and Abeer Abu El-Majd, 2020), a ‎observation checklist for some life skills (prepared by the researcher), ‎and a training program using the Jasper approach (prepared by the ‎researcher). The results indicated statistically significant differences ‎between the mean ranks of the scores of children with autism in the ‎experimental research group in the pre-test and post-test ‎measurements of the observation checklist for some life skills in favor ‎of the post-test measurement. However, there were no statistically ‎significant differences between the mean ranks of the scores of ‎children with autism in the experimental research group in the post-test ‎and follow-up measurements of the observation checklist for some life ‎skills. ‎
