A proposed program to develop some formative fluency skills among intermediate school students in the State of Kuwait

Abstract

The Art Education course is one of the curricula that is widely accepted by students and receives great attention from the Ministry of Education in the State of Kuwait due to its ability to instill aesthetic and educational values ​​in addition to developing creative and critical thinking among learners, especially in the intermediate stage. In the intermediate stage, students build on what they have learned and build connections between their educational experiences in early childhood. Education and teaching are supported by several experiences across the curriculum materials, with a focus on the competencies achieved at the end of grade 12 as a result of organizing the general and specific competencies of the subject. Learning habits are then acquired at this level and the process of mental, motor, and emotional-social development is enhanced. Special attention is given to building positive attitudes towards learning so that children know their abilities and have full opportunities to develop the different dimensions of their personalities (Ministry of Education and the National Center for Education Development (Ministry of Education and the National Center for Education Development, 14, 2016). Art is able to make the student a distinctive productive source instead of being a machine for memorizing inputs.
