Samuel Boshra's Psychoanalytic Mental Therapy with Emotional Freedom for reducing symptoms the Non-Suicidal Self-Harm disorder (The case study)

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the Psychoanalytic Mental Therapy with Emotional Freedom for reducing the symptoms of non-suicidal self-harm disorder in the study case, after applying (the Non-Suicidal Self-Harm Scale according to DSM-5, prepared and standardized by / Muhammad Riyad et al., 2023). A study case suffering from non-suicidal self-harm was selected and (the initial and clinical interview forms, selected cards from the subject understanding test, and a Psychoanalytic Mental Therapy with Emotional Freedom) was applied to it. The results of the analytical study showed that non-suicidal self-harm is due to abnormal upbringing methods, broken families, family problems, feelings of emotional deprivation, lack of support, love and tenderness, in addition to her suffering from low self-confidence and feeling sad, which led the case to establish a romantic relationship. The results also showed the effectiveness of Psychoanalytic Mental Therapy with Emotional Freedom for reducing symptoms the Non-Suicidal Self-Harm disorder in the study case.
